The SAMMinistries Accounting/Human Resources employee will compute, classify, record and verify numerical data for maintaining Accounts Payable records and maintain the Human Recourses department by performing the following:


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Human Resources/Payroll Services:

  1. Responsible for all human resource activities to include: employment, compensation, benefits, training, and development handle terminations and unemployment process, employee counseling and exit interviews, and workers’ compensation reporting.
  2. Develop job-appropriate screening questions to be used in the online application process.
  3. Conduct reference and background checks.
  4. Develop and administer effective plans, which target employee welfare and recognition, communication and morale.
  5. Recommend, develop and schedule training and development courses.
  6. Manage and maintain job descriptions and provide guidance and participate in the creation of new and/or revised positions.
  7. Responsible for the development and implementation of recruiting and staffing plans, benefits administration and compensation plans, and counseling supervisors and managers regarding company policies, procedures, and all aspect of employment law.
  8. Review resumes and assesses candidates. Conduct first level interviews and make hire/no-hire recommendation to management.  Review and discuss the performance of candidates with interviewers.
    Design and conduct new employee orientations.
  9. Participate in job fairs and college recruiting activities.
    Facilitate and provide support for organizational change and performance management.
  10. Prepare, process and distribute payroll.
  11. Maintain attendance on all employees and produce attendance reports as needed.
  12. Maintain current birthday list of all employees.

Accounts Payable Duties:

  1. Assist in compiling and sorting documents, such as invoices, substantiating business transactions for SAMMinistries.
  2. Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds disbursed, and total accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases, as needed.
  3. Prepare vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records and review for accuracy.
  4. Assist in answering vendor inquiries.
  5. Code data for in/out to financial data processing system according to company procedures.
  6. Prepares accounts payable checks.
  7. Print accounts payable reports and help maintain accounts payable files.
  8. Reconcile report discrepancies and problems.

Must be computer literate in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and general accounting software.  Proficient at operating 10-key adding machine by touch.

Must have knowledge of federal and state employment-related laws and regulations (EEO guidelines and administration).  Must possess the ability to deal effectively with all employees and external business contacts, the ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships.






Employment eligibility verification;

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurances;

Successful completion of background screening; and

This position requires on-site face to face contact with clients and program staff.



BS degree in Accounting/Business/Human Resources Management and/or 5 years work experience in payroll preparation and accounts payable; 2 plus years in Human Resources (contact center environment experience preferred).



Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent oral, written and presentation skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with hiring managers and candidates at all levels.

Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
